Weakly Supervised Segmentation

An approach that aims to learn segmentation from cheaper labels instead of full pixel masks.

Weakly supervised segmentation is highly important in domains where full pixel labeling is expensive and time-consuming. Cheaper supervision signals such as image-level labels, boxes, or point annotations are used instead. This makes segmentation systems more scalable under lower annotation cost. It provides strong practical benefits especially in medical and industrial data collection.
