Temporal Action Localization

A task that identifies not only the action type in a video but also the time interval in which it occurs.

Temporal action localization is more detailed than action recognition because it must identify both the type of event and its start and end times. It is highly valuable in sports analytics, educational videos, operational recordings, and security scenarios. The model must understand not only what happened, but when it happened. It is one of the advanced components of video event analytics.
