SIFT Descriptor
A classical but effective descriptor method that produces local visual features robust to scale and rotation.
SIFT is one of the most effective and historically important local feature methods in classical computer vision. Its scale- and rotation-invariant keypoint description made it the standard approach for matching and image registration for many years. It shaped the pre-deep-feature era and still retains value today in interpretable and low-data scenarios.
