Layout Analysis

A Document AI task that structurally separates titles, paragraphs, tables, images, and layout blocks in a document.

Layout analysis treats a document not as a mere block of text, but as a structured information object composed of multiple parts. Titles, tables, footnotes, signatures, and field blocks are separated to enable richer document understanding. This is especially critical in processing contracts, forms, financial reports, and academic papers. It is one of the main steps in moving from OCR toward full Document AI.
