Image Registration
The process of aligning images from different times, viewpoints, or sensors within a common coordinate system.
Image registration is a fundamental step for jointly analyzing visual data coming from multiple times, sensors, or viewpoints. Examples include medical image fusion, satellite analysis, 3D reconstruction, and industrial quality control. Successful registration means not only finding a geometric transformation, but also preserving meaningful structural correspondence.
