Image Denoising

The process of improving image quality by reducing noise caused by sensors, compression, or transmission.

Image denoising is critically important in low-light conditions, poor sensor environments, and compressed data settings. The goal is not only to improve visual quality but also to provide cleaner input for downstream tasks such as classification, detection, or segmentation. Solutions range from classical filtering methods to learning-based restoration networks. It is a high-impact preprocessing layer especially in medical imaging, surveillance, and industrial inspection.
