Face Recognition

A task focused on distinguishing individuals by producing identity-like discriminative representations from face images.

Face recognition is one of the best-known subfields of biometric vision. The goal is either to classify a face directly or to match it against similar identities in an embedding space. This has led to applications in security, access control, device login, and media archiving. However, because of fairness, privacy, and data-protection issues, it requires careful design and governance.
