Workload Isolation

A warehouse approach in which resources are separated to prevent different query and compute workloads from interfering with one another.

Workload isolation prevents dashboard queries, ad hoc analysis, and heavy transformation jobs running at the same time from degrading one another inside a warehouse. Resource pools, separated compute layers, or priority policies are often used for this purpose. This approach protects both user experience and platform stability. It is especially important in cloud data warehouses for balancing cost and performance.
