Data Collection
The systematic process of acquiring data for analysis, reporting, and modeling workflows.
Data collection is one of the earliest and most decisive steps in the data science lifecycle. What data is collected, from which sources, at what frequency, and under which quality standards directly shapes the reliability of later analyses. Poorly designed collection processes create biased, incomplete, or inconsistent data from the very beginning. For that reason, data collection is not merely a technical acquisition task, but a design problem closely tied to business goals, measurement strategy, and problem framing.
