Technical Metadata

The technical metadata layer that describes schema, data types, source structures, and storage characteristics of data assets.

Technical metadata provides the structural information that platform and data engineering teams need in order to process data. Examples include column names, data types, partitioning details, file formats, table versions, and source connections. Without this layer, automation, schema validation, and integration reliability weaken. Technical metadata is essentially the machine-readable dictionary of data systems.
