Streaming Endpoint Detection
A mechanism that determines when speech has truly ended in order to provide correct response timing in streaming ASR systems.
Streaming endpoint detection is critical for correctly interpreting speech-silence transitions in real-time speech systems. If the system cuts too early, it loses part of the utterance; if it cuts too late, it introduces unnecessary latency. For this reason, VAD, linguistic completion signals, and streaming decision mechanisms may all be used together. It is one of the invisible but decisive components of voice interface experience.
