Semantic Lineage
A lineage approach that shows how data assets are derived and connected not only technically, but also at the business-meaning level.
Semantic lineage goes beyond technical flow between tables and columns to reveal how business meaning evolves. For example, it can show which business definitions, intermediate calculations, and raw fields underlie a KPI. This is especially valuable in warehouses, semantic layers, and decision-support systems. In many cases, the real question is not only where the data came from, but how its meaning was formed.
