Reference Data Management

The centralized and consistent management of controlled data sets such as code lists, classes, and shared dictionaries.

Reference data management ensures that shared dictionaries such as countries, currencies, department codes, or product classes are used consistently across the enterprise. Even small differences in these domains can create reporting and integration issues. Reference data often appears small in volume, but it forms the basis of semantic alignment across systems. Uncontrolled reference data can silently fragment enterprise meaning. Well-managed reference data is the linguistic consistency of the data ecosystem.
