Pitch Tracking

A core acoustic analysis task that tracks the fundamental frequency of an audio signal over time.

Pitch tracking is fundamentally important for speech prosody, music analysis, affective cues, and speech synthesis. The fundamental frequency structure of sound carries strong information about both speaker traits and speaking style. Poor pitch tracking can seriously degrade downstream analysis and synthesis tasks. For this reason, it remains an important component in both classical and learning-based audio pipelines.
