Medallion Architecture

A layered data-processing model that progresses from raw data toward reliable analytical data.

Medallion architecture organizes data into layers such as bronze, silver, and gold according to its quality and processing stage. Raw data is first ingested as-is, then cleaned, and finally refined for business use. This model makes data flow easier to understand and manage in data lake and lakehouse environments. The layered structure improves traceability and enables controlled delivery of data for different consumer needs.
