Master Data Management
An approach for managing core enterprise entities such as customers, products, and suppliers in a unified and consistent way.
Master Data Management aims to create a single trusted version of an enterprise’s most critical business entities. When the same concept, such as a customer, product, store, employee, or supplier, appears differently across multiple systems, major operational problems arise. The MDM approach reduces this fragmentation by establishing shared definitions, matching rules, and master reference records. It plays a key role in enterprise data consistency, reporting accuracy, and process integration.
