Lineage-Metadata Sync

A synchronization approach that keeps metadata definitions and lineage relationships consistent and up to date.

Lineage-metadata sync ensures that both descriptive metadata and flow relationships remain aligned. If metadata is current but lineage is stale, or the reverse, trust in the data platform degrades. For that reason, the descriptive layer and the traceability layer should be governed together. In modern data platforms, catalog and lineage systems are expected to work in an integrated rather than disconnected manner.
