l-Diversity

A privacy model that requires sufficient diversity of sensitive values within anonymized groups.

l-diversity is a more advanced privacy model developed to address some weaknesses of k-anonymity. If all individuals in the same anonymous group share the same sensitive value, the group may still carry serious privacy risk. l-diversity therefore requires sufficient diversity of sensitive values within each group. This aims to limit not only distinguishability, but also information disclosure. It provides a meaningful extra layer of protection, especially in sensitive domains such as healthcare and insurance.
