Impact Analysis
The process of assessing in advance which reports, models, tables, or workflows may be affected by a data change.
Impact analysis is one of the most critical components of change management in data platforms. When a column name changes, a table is removed, or a business rule is updated, teams need to know which downstream systems will be affected. This visibility is difficult to achieve without lineage. Strong impact analysis helps data teams evolve safely, reduce unexpected breakage, and preserve production trust.
