False Trigger Rate

False trigger rate is one of the most important measures affecting user experience in wake word systems. If the system is too sensitive, it triggers unnecessarily; if too strict, it misses real activations. The precision-recall balance must therefore be tested on real ambient audio. In practice, system success is often better reflected by this metric than by laboratory accuracy alone.
