For a prompt engineer, the strongest social proof is a merged PR. Steps:
- Filter "good first issue" on a framework's issue tracker
- Start with a docs fix or typo PR (warm-up)
- Then a small bug fix or new example notebook
- Then a new integration (e.g. new vector store, new tool)
- Engage maintainers on Discord/issues — build a community network
