Turing Test
One of the most symbolic thought experiments in AI history, asking whether a machine can communicate in a human-like way.
The Turing Test is one of the most recognized conceptual milestones in the history of AI. Proposed by Alan Turing, it asks a simple but powerful question: can a human evaluator distinguish a machine from a human using only written interaction? If not, the machine may be said to exhibit human-like intelligence. Of course, this test is no longer considered sufficient on its own, because sounding human is not the same as truly understanding. Even so, the Turing Test remains valuable because it highlights that AI debates are not only technical, but also philosophical and social.
