Stride

A CNN hyperparameter that determines how many steps a filter moves across the input and affects output resolution.

Stride defines how far a convolutional filter moves across the input at each step. Larger stride values reduce output size and may lower computational cost, but they can also lead to loss of fine detail. Choosing stride is therefore a trade-off between speed and preservation of spatial information. In CNN design, it is often considered together with pooling alternatives.
