Autonomous System

A system capable of handling perception, evaluation, and action generation with little or no human intervention.

Autonomous systems are not merely systems that process data or produce reports; they also perceive the environment, evaluate situations, and take actions based on those evaluations. Autonomous vehicles, robotic platforms, security response systems, and intelligent workflow agents are all examples of this logic in different forms. The key issue is not simply that the system makes decisions instead of a human, but under which boundaries, safety layers, and feedback mechanisms those decisions are made. As autonomy increases, reliability, controllability, and auditability become just as important as performance. That is why autonomous system design is not only a technical challenge but also a governance challenge.
