Event Coreference
The task of determining whether event mentions across sentences or documents refer to the same underlying event.
Event coreference is more complex than entity coreference because events carry components such as time, actors, location, and action. In news streams, security reports, and crisis-monitoring systems, the same event is often described in multiple ways. Strong event coreference systems are critical for event consolidation and timeline construction.
