Emotion Classification

A task that classifies text into finer-grained emotional categories such as joy, anger, fear, or sadness.

Emotion classification provides a more fine-grained emotional analysis than the standard positive-negative axis. It can yield more meaningful insight in fields such as psychology, user experience, customer relations, and social impact analysis. However, emotion categories may vary across cultural context, expression style, and domain. For that reason, the design of the label schema plays a critical role in task success.
