Collaborative Filtering
A core recommendation approach that generates suggestions through similar users or similar items.
Collaborative filtering is one of the most classic and effective families of recommendation systems. The core idea is that similar users will tend to like similar items, or similar items will be preferred by similar users. It is widely used in e-commerce, media platforms, and content ecosystems. However, cold-start issues and sparse interaction data remain among its main challenges.
